Watch party – Wed 9 April
Next Wednesday 9 April 2025 at 10:00 Singapore/Perth, 12:00 Melb/Syd/Brisb, 14:00 Wellington we are holding a watch party Digital Preservation Framework for Risk Assessment and Preservation Planning. It will include a recording of speakers from the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) providing information about their framework. This will be followed by our live guest speaker Elizabeth Long, Assistant Director of Preservation at the National Archives of Australia (NAA) to talk about how the NAA developed their own File Format Risk Framework for digital preservation.

Digital Forensic SIG
The next Digital Forensic SIG meeting will be held on Tues 8 April 2025 at 16:00 Singapore/Perth, 18:00 Melb/Syd/Brisb, 20:00 Wellington which may allow some in our time zone to attend. The SIG brings together DPC Members interested in discussing and sharing experiences on the use of digital forensics tools and workflows. Please email Eleanor O’Leary if you would like to attend.
Bits and Bots study group new cohort
The 2024 DP Award winning Study Group Bits and Bots for building digital skills offers a fun approach to digital skills development. They are about to welcome their second cohort of learners, and you can join!
No previous experience in coding is required, all skill levels are welcome. The study group takes place over a year with two breaks allowing for flexible studying/ catching up. There are regular check-in meetings online for different time zones and a chance to learn new skills within a supportive network. Even if you missed the kick-off meetings in March, you can still sign up by contacting one of the organisers.
iPRES 2025 – call for contributions closing soon
Excitement is building about iPRES 2025 being held in our part of the world 3 – 7 November 2025 in Wellington, Aotearoa (New Zeland). The iPRES 2025 call for contributions is closing on 14 April 2025 so if you were thinking about submitting a full or short paper, workshop, tutorial, panel or poster contribution for peer-review there’s still time.
